Subject: [Security Advisory] AryStinger Botnet Infection in D-Link Routers
Dear IT/Security Team,
We are sharing information regarding a newly discovered botnet named "AryStinger" targeting D-Link routers.
â Overview Over 4,000 outdated D-Link routers have been compromised and converted into remotely controlled "executors." These devices are used as proxies for malicious scanning and tunneling. Furthermore, the malware can tamper with DNS settings to hijack browsing and steal network traffic.
â Action Plan 1. Audit all D-Link routers currently in use within the organization. 2. Update firmware to the latest available version immediately. 3. For End-of-Life (EOL) devices that no longer receive updates, plan for immediate hardware replacement.
